Pacific Baptist School provides a strong, Christian education for grades K4-12 for the children of members of Pacific Baptist Church. It exists to assist and support parents in their efforts to train up children in the way God has designed. Light in the Midst of Darkness
Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
(Matthew 5:14-16)
More often than not, when the Bible talks about darkness it is referring to the absence of the light of God and His Word in the life of an individual, family, or community. In the year 2011 our world is steeped in darkness, decadence, and depravity. Our country is steeped in darkness. Our community is steeped in darkness. This is because, for the most part, they have forsaken the light of God’s holy Word. As Christian young people, what should our response be? We need to let our light so shine before men in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation (Mat 5:14-16; Phil 2:15). May we never forget that the darker the night, the brighter the light (Isa 60:1-3). Let’s shine brightly for Christ this year!
